A Day in The Life
A Day in The LifeI will introduce my short film with a poem titled 'The Stroller', written by myself.Picture yourself,Standing amongst a crowd of people. You see a man flittingIn and out of the crowd, Capturing a scene from every angle,Curious. He moves on,God-knows where. Passionately wandering, Weaving through the fairy lit lanesIn search of modernity,He remains detached,Rubbing shoulders,Overhearing conversation and wondering, Relishing in the incomprehensible,Absorbing the transient city. The never marks the higher part of his encounters,The delight of the city dweller is not love at first sight, but love at last sight. This short animation gives one an insight into my life and my various journeys through time. Simultaneously it comments on today's society and the human condition. I have included a variety of moments in the film, each image telling a slightly different narrative. I have drawn all images on-site and have also recorded the sound to accompany them. I feel like this was the perfect method of pulling together a vast sketchbook of observational drawing and I fully enjoyed the process.Warning: One scene may be slightly disturbing to some individuals.© 2016 Samuel J Smith.
